Professor Michał Tendera from the Department of Cardiology and Structural Diseases of the Heart of the Faculty of Medicine of the Silesian Medical University was elected as member of the Academia Europaea – a European non-governmental scientific organization. This is the appreciation of his achievements and contributions to European research.

Academia Europaea is the largest pan-European scientific society, founded in 1988 on the initiative of the Royal Society. Currently, it associates 3.5 thousand members, including Nobel Prize winners and leading experts in the fields of biological sciences and medicine, law, economics, technology, humanities, social and exact sciences.

The Royal Society’s mission is to introduce the highest standards in science, research and education, supporting interdisciplinary and international research, and promoting the value of European science and research.
