Dr Urszula Cierniak, the University of Humanities and Natural Sciences in Częstochowa: received funding under the Opus program of the National Science Center for her project “Idealist, romantic ladies, muses. Russian Catholic ladies in the culture of the 19th century Europe”.

The aim of the project is to comprehensively investigate the impact of Russian catholic women on European culture. A decisive factor in the research will be female autobiographical and ego-documentary texts, their original literary works and their treatises on religious and philosophical topics.

In the course of work, the scientist is planning to supplement the already available knowledge with new names and facts reflecting the ties between Russian Catholics and representatives of Russian and European literature, religious and political philosophy, and their influence on the views of representatives of the nineteenth-century intellectual elite.
