Shoodi – a device designed to facilitate putting on shoes – designed by a 3rd year student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice won a prize at the Taiwan International Student Design Competition – one of the world’s largest design competitions for students.
The project of Maja Słowikowska was created in the ergonomic design studio of the Katowice university. Shoodi is innovative and simple in production and it is intended to facilitate the daily activities of people with reduced mobility – including minimizing the risk of loss of balance when putting on shoes.
Taiwan International Student Design Competition is organized by the Ministry of National Education of Taiwan. The theme of the 12th competition was empathy. 21,988 projects were submitted in 4 categories from 810 universities in 66 countries. 4,608 projects were submitted in the Product Design category. 150 were qualified for the finals and only 13 of them were awarded by the jury.
