Projects by Warsaw University researchers receive funding in the Universalia 2.2 competition

Two projects carried out by researchers from the University of Warsaw (UW) were selected for funding in the Universalia 2.2 competition.

The Universalia competition is one of the modules of the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities. It is open to applications for funding of projects concerning the Polish edition of the most important works of culture, especially from the world humanities, in order to introduce them into Polish cultural circulation.

Dr Jan Jakub Kwapisz of the Faculty of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw is responsible for carrying out the edition, translation and editing of books XIII and XIV of the Palatine Anthology, one of the most valuable documents of ancient Greek literature. In the Universalia 2.2 competition, the project received funding of PLN 349 190.40.

The second awarded project is headed by Dr Michał Herer of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw, who will prepare a translation and the first publication in Poland of seven volumes of lectures given by Michel Foucault at the Collège de France. The amount of funding for the project is PLN 755 070.
