The Rector of the Kraków University of Technology (PK), Prof. Andrzej Szarata, has received the Railway Transport Office President’s Award “Safety culture in rail transport”. The award recognises the contribution of the Krakow University of Technology to the development of rail transport, translating into improved safety in this sector, as well as for providing education in the field of rail transport.
Kraków University of Technology is one of the strongest expert centres in Poland in the field of rail transport and rail vehicle engineering. PK specialists provide expert support to the largest companies in the railway industry as well as local government units and research institutes.
PK recalls that, under a cooperation agreement signed with the Faculty of Civil Engineering, companies from the railway industry fund scholarships for PK students studying railway-related specialisations at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
The Krakow University of Technology’s School of Transport, an interdepartmental project of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Civil Engineering, also operates at PK.
