The Silesian University of Technology has two modern, year-round aircraft hangars. One will store aircraft and the other will house a workshop for mechanics. As part of the investment, an administration and training building was also built at the Gliwice airport.

The hangars have an area of over 1,000 square metres. Together with the administration and training building, they will be used to carry out statutory tasks by the aviation centres operating within the Centre for Civil Aviation Education of the Central and Eastern European University of Technology.

The modern facilities will be used by the staff and students of the Silesian University of Technology studying Transport and Aerospace Engineering. The new buildings will house theoretical classes, workshops and projects related to the preparation for the practical training of pilots and aircraft mechanics.
