Rector’s lecture of Professor Oded Galor at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń

The Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń is inviting on October 17 to a lecture by an outstanding economist – Professor Oded Galor from the University of Brown, the seventh oldest university in the US.

The lecture will be held in the historic building of the Artus Court, in the heart of the old city. The subject of the lecture given in English will be the biogeographic roots of the wealth of nations. The accompanying event will be a piano concert performed by Prof. Tadeusz Trzaskalik from the University of Economics in Katowice.

Scientific interests of Prof. Galora focuses on the topics of economic growth and development, relationships of economics with population development, demography, evolutionary economics and socio-economic geography. He is the author of the “Uniform Theory of Economic Growth” and the editor-in-chief of “Journal of Economic Growth”, a journal included in the TOP10 best economic magazines in the world.
