The historic façade of the building of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Education of the Silesian University in Cieszyn will be renovated. Funding for this purpose, PLN 1.3 million was awarded under the second Government Programme for the Protection of Monuments.

Among other things, it is planned to renovate, supplement and restore the plaster and architectural cladding of the facade and chimneys together with restoring their colours, renovating and reconstructing the clock and securing it, restoring the historic entrance to the building and securing and preserving historic architectural details reminiscent of Art Nouveau and Art Déco.

Commissioned in 1911, the building is included in the Municipal Register of Monuments of the Municipality of Cieszyn. It has served educational purposes intermittently for more than 100 years. Initially, there was an independent Polish teachers’ seminary there, and today it is the seat of the Faculty of Arts and Science of Education.
