12 September 2023 saw the premiere of the report “Energy flexibility in Poland”, which is a comprehensive summary of current research and knowledge on energy flexibility. The study is sponsored by the Białystok University of Technology (PB) and the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Kraków.
The report was prepared by Dr Grzegorz Hołdyński, Assistant Professor at the Department of Power Electronics, Electrotechnology and Electrical Power Engineering of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the PB, and Dr Andrzej Firlit, an expert in the field of energy, associated with the AGH University of Science and Technology.
In Poland and Europe, the energy sector faces enormous challenges and opportunities for development. Energy flexibility is an important part of the energy transition generating investments that are estimated to be at least PLN 0.5 trillion by 2040.
The report answers such questions as: What are the prospects for the development of current renewable energy sources, taking into account the legal conditions and regulations of the renewable energy market in Poland? What is the technological and infrastructural potential of the Polish energy system? What are the directions for the development of energy flexibility technologies and policies?
