The results of the research by Dr Sylwia Zielińska and Prof. Adam Junka from the Medical University in Wrocław were awarded by the editors of the magazine “Molecules”. The article was selected as a “cover story” from over two hundred published in the latest issue.
The article describes the results of a comparative analysis of the profile of alkaloids and their importance for antimicrobial activity in two poorly studied plants related to pharmacopoeia species – the European common fumitory and Chinese Corydalis Yanhusuo.
Research on the differentiation of the composition of antimicrobial alkaloids in the Papaveracea family was carried out under the SONATA grant at the Department of Biology and Pharmaceutical Botany. The article selected for the cover was created thanks to cooperation with Prof. Christian Zidorn from the Department of Pharmaceutical Biology of the Christian-Albrecht University of Kiel, Germany.
