Professor Mieszko Więckiewicz, head of the Department of Experimental Dentistry at the Medical University of Wrocław, has become the first Polish scientist to join the Scientific Council of the Journal of Oral & Facial Pain and Headache (JOFPH). 

JOFPH is the official journal of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP). Its first issue (under the name Journal of Orofacial Pain) was published in 1987.The quarterly journal is the most prestigious international periodical that deals with oral and facial pain, temporomandibular disorders, and headache. 

“Being a member of the scientific council of the JOFPH is a great honour for doctors and dentists involved in the diagnosis and treatment of oral and orofacial pain. In addition, it undoubtedly increases the international recognition of both the scientist and the university at which he or she works”, says Professor Więckiewicz.
