Prof. Eng. Jacek Błażewicz, Faculty of Computer Science and Telecommunications of the Poznań University of Technology has won the prestigious distinction of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Distinguished Scientist).
The award, granted under the CAS President’s International Fellowship program, recognizes foreign scientists who are recognized authorities in their research fields and who have outstanding scientific achievements. Prof. Błażewicz is one of the laureates in the field of engineering and information technology. The nomination for this award was submitted by the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Prof. Jacek Błażewicz is the director of the European Center for Bioinformatics and Genomics and the Institute of Computer Science of the Poznań University of Technology. In his research work, he focuses on areas related to DNA sequencing, analysis and prediction of RNA and protein structures, as well as the theory of algorithms and parallel computing.
