Prof. Honorata Jakubowska of the sociology department of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań became the first Polish national expert in the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) – the unit managing European research programs.
– The work here can be compared to the tasks of the discipline coordinators at the National Science Center, but in this case they concern European grants awarded by the European Research Council (ERC) – says Prof. Jakubowska.
The European Research Council Executive Agency is involved in the organization of competitions (appointment of experts, reviewers, organization of meetings, etc.) and monitoring of projects that are ongoing or completed. Her additional task is to popularize ERC competitions during seminars (nowadays mostly webinars), conferences and scientific workshops.
