Chairman of the Polish Navigation Forum, Dr Eng. Krzysztof Czaplewski, Gdynia Maritime University, was elected president of the International Association of Institutes of Navigation (IAIN). The selection was made by the general assembly of the association.

The assembly has listened to the information on the state of preparations for the 17th IAIN World Congress, which would be held in Beijing in 2024. It also decided that the next congress in 2027 would be organized by the Polish Navigation Forum in Krakow. It will be the first time that the most important event of this rank for navigators will be held in Poland.

IAIN is a non-profit non-governmental organization of national and international institutes and organizations that aim to support human activities by land, sea, air and space by developing and disseminating the science and practice of navigation and related information techniques.
