Marta Cykowiak from the Department of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry of the Medical University of Poznań joined the BioLAB 2020-21 Program of the Polish-American Fulbright Commission. The winner will be conducting research at the University of Virginia, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics for a year.
The BioLAB program is intended for students of master’s and doctoral studies in biology, chemistry and medicine. During the internship, students will join research teams conducting projects in neurology, crystallography, virology and molecular genetics.
The results of their research often become the basis for articles published in peer-reviewed scientific journals such as “Nature”, “Proteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics” and “Acta Crystallographica.” BioLAB scholarship holders also take an active part in the life of an American university, participate in seminars, guest lectures, and learn about American culture.
