An international team of scientists with Prof. Katarzyna Hrynkiewicz, a scientist of the Faculty of Biological and Veterinary Sciencesoft the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń became the winner of the BiodivClim competition.
Researchers from 7 European countries including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, Romania and Sweden will carry out the project “Perennial cereal cultivation based on nature as a model for maintaining functional biodiversity in future agriculture”.
Funds under the BiodivClim competition are allocated by the European Commission for research in the following areas: the impact of climate change on biodiversity; processes resulting from the link between climate and biodiversity; nature-based mitigation and adaptation solutions to climate change, and synergies and trade-offs between biodiversity and climate policy and other sectors.
