Dr Marek Krzystanek, Prof. of Medical University of Silesia received the award of the Minister of Health. The head of the university’s Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, was recognized for significant achievements in the field of implementation.

The laureate is an active scientist and promoter of medical knowledge, author of 80 scientific publications and 100 congress lectures, 2 books and 18 chapters in textbooks in the field of psychiatry. He conducted a clinical study of the effects of telemedicine treatment of psychiatric patients, which introduced Polish psychiatry to the cybernetic era of patient treatment.

The awards of the Minister of Health are granted annually for significant achievements in the field of scientific, didactic, implementation and organizational activities as well as for all other academic achievements.
