Professor Andrzej Czyżewski from the Gdańsk University of Technology together with the team of the Multimedia Systems Department has developed a number of new multimedia technologies used in medicine, which have been awarded many times in Poland and abroad.

Professor Czyżewski said in the interview to Polish Radio about the possibilities of communication with people after severe strokes, in a vegetative state, coma and about cooperation with centers dealing with this type of patients, thanks to which it was possible to develop diagnostic and medical therapy software. Currently, scientists study memory with electrodes implanted in the brain.

Another solution developed by scientists from the Gdańsk University of Technology is a smart pen that is to help in the drug therapy of people suffering from Parkinson’s disease. The pen has many built-in sensors and it communicates with the computer wirelessly.
