Dr Karol Kłodziński, Faculty of History of the University of Gdańsk became a specialist member of the Committee on Ancient Culture of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) for the 2021-2024 term. For over two years, the scientist has been participating in the work and archaeological discoveries in North Africa.
The Committee for Ancient Culture Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences has been operating for nearly 70 years. It acts as an advisory and opinion-making body. It is composed of national members of the Polish Academy of Sciences, eminent academics representing universities, PAN institutes and research institutes.
Dr Kłodziński’s research concerns the history of ancient Rome and Roman public law, especially the administration of the early Roman Empire, Latin epigraphy and the history of Roman North Africa. Since 2019, he has been a member of the international research group of the Tunisian-Polish Archaeological Mission in Mustis, in which he is responsible for the research of Latin inscriptions.
