Dr Konrad Burdziak of the University of Szczecin will try to compare Polish and Estonian solutions in the field of criminological forecasting. The research internship of the Szczecin researcher will be financed under the Miniatura 4 competition by the National Science Center.
Dr Burdziak will use the resources of the Estonian Tallinn University’s Academic Library in his research and the support and suggestions of the employees of the local School of Governance, Law and Society. The scientist will also try to analyze the judgments of Estonian courts.
During the internship, the scientist will try to establish the legal regulations in force in Estonia regarding conditional early release from the imprisonment sentence and assess the risk of the perpetrator’s returning to crime, taking into account the findings presented in this regard in the professional literature.
