Researcher of the University of Warsaw joins the “Forbes Women” 2020 list

Forbes magazine has published the list of the 100 most influential women of 2020 “Forbes Women”. This group has included Dr Anna Matysiak, Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw (UW).

The awarded influential women include: Carmen M. Reinhart – chief economist of the World Bank, Prof. Fabiola Gianotti – head of the European Organization for Nuclear Research and Polish Nobel laureate in literature, Olga Tokarczuk.

Dr Anna Matysiak, University of Warsaw studies the dynamics of families, analyzes both the formation of relationships, decisions about having children, and the causes of family breakdown. It checks the impact of socio-economic factors on families, primarily the labor market.

A year ago, her research was appreciated by the European Research Council, awarding the prestigious ERC Consolidator Grant 2019. Thanks to this award, the demographer founded the Interdisciplinary Center for Labor Market Research and Family (LABFAM), which operates at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw.
