Researcher of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences joins the team for the Biobanks Act

Professor Krzysztof Marycz, head of the Department of Experimental Biology at the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław, was appointed by the Prime Minister to a team of experts who will develop a draft law regulating the principles of biobanking of biological material.

14 scientists led by Prof. Piotr Fiedor is expected to prepare a bill on biobanks by March 2020 – including the principles of making bank materials available for further research.

The specialists invited to cooperate are designed to develop proposals for legal solutions that will allow to create a system integrating databases containing scientific and medical data, in particular in the field of oncology, personalized medicine and rare diseases, and ensure the possibility of using this data for the purposes of scientific research and work development.
