Łukasiewicz – Łódź Institute of Technology (ŁIT) has taken up the problem of the proper fitting of footwear for the proper development of the feet of children and young people.
Researchers from Łukasiewicz – ŁIT are carrying out a project “The influence of the design, materials and proper fit of footwear on the health of children and young people”.
The project has not only a research aspect, but above all an educational and social one.
“We focus on healthy feet for Poles. We are starting with the education of the youngest, but we are also educating parents. We are pointing out that the right choice of footwear affects the proper functioning of feet and proper posture. The project is being carried out in a broad socio-economic environment”, said Dr Katarzyna Ławińska, project manager.
As part of the project, researchers from Łukasiewicz – ŁIT conduct large-scale anthropometric measurements of children’s feet.
