The Gdańsk University of Technology joins academic and research institutions from six countries of the Baltic Sea Region that deal with developing better anti- flood solutions tools for urban planners.
The aim of the project is to create a concept of comprehensive planning and implementation of intelligent drainage systems for everyday practices of cities and water supply and sewage services. It is to contribute to reducing the inflow of pollution from urban areas to the Baltic Sea by as much as half of the floods.
The NOAH project “Protection of the Baltic Sea against pollution due to floods caused by intense precipitation in urban areas” is financed by the European Territorial Community in the Interreg Region of the Baltic Sea program. The project is carried out by two departments of the University of Technology: the civil engineering and the environment departments in cooperation with the “Water supply – Słupsk” company.
