Researchers from the Jagiellonian University to receive over PLN 64 million

Scientists from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow will receive 90 grants for research in the field of humanities, social and arts, science and technology, and life sciences as part of two competitions of the National Science Center (NCN). 

In the OPUS 21 call, projects of researchers from the Jagiellonian University will be financed for a total amount of PLN 56.3 million, in PRELUDIUM 20 – for almost PLN 8 million.

The National Science Center will finance research by Prof. Paweł Valde-Nowak from the Faculty of History of the Jagiellonian University, who will search for traces of prehistoric settlement in caves on the Polish side of the Tatra Mountains.

Possible solutions and their political consequences of a mixed electoral system for Poland will be dealt with by Dr Jarosław Flis from the Faculty of Management and Social Communication of the Jagiellonian University.

Dr Joanna Lewandowska-Lancucka from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University will develop new methods of treating glioblastoma, which have a real chance to improve the patient’s quality of life by minimizing restrictions and increasing the effectiveness of chemotherapy.
