Researchers from the Maria Curie Skłodowska University to improve communication with doctors

10.09.2021

The purpose of the interdisciplinary cooperation of the Maria Curie Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin with foreign universities is to create an application collecting information about the state of health and facilitating contact with doctors. Scientists received nearly EUR 1 million for its implementation.

The participants of the REINITIALISE project include the Lublin university, the Belgian Catholic University of Leuven, the Italian University of Macerata, and the Italian company supporting the application and implementation of European projects Eurocentro. On behalf of UMCS, employees of several institutes including Social Communication and Media Sciences, Computer Science and Sociology will join the implementation of the project.

-We did not know that a pandemic came and that we would contact doctors online. However, something told us that such a project must be submitted – explained the main coordinator of the project, Prof. Ilona Biernacka-Ligięza.

The test version of the developed tool will be ready in mid-2023.
