Researchers from the Department of Information Technology at Poznań University of Economics, in cooperation with Enea Operator and Poznań University of Technology, have developed an innovative training programme using virtual reality. It allows to safely increase the professional skills of Enea Operator’s technical services involved in, among other things, the extension and maintenance of high-voltage lines.

The VR system reproduces the energy supplier’s infrastructure in a realistic way, creating a friendly environment for improving competences. The graphics were created on the basis of specific energy objects of the company, scanned in 3D technology.

The project has already been recognised abroad. It was among the finalists of the virtual reality industry’s most prestigious international competition, the International VR Awards, in the ‘VR Education and Training Solution of the Year’ category. This category awards solutions that provide an immersive and effective learning experience.
