Researchers from the Faculty of Management at the University of Łódź (UŁ), together with their partners, will look at the challenges and develop a universal model for housing resource management that can be implemented in every Polish municipality.
The current state of housing resource management in Poland is not satisfactory. In principle, it is not possible to manage empty flats and housing units, even when there are people interested in the premises in question. Prolonged procedures are burdensome for people in need and costly for municipalities.
‘We are embarking on a pioneering nationwide project ‘Housing resource management under contemporary crises: directions and mechanisms for improvement’ and invite researchers, doctoral students and students to collaborate. ‘The new management model assumes a win-win situation in the short term, without the municipalities having to carry out renovations, in principle with a quick but preferential acquisition, giving the municipalities further cash proceeds from the sale’, says Dr Beata Glinkowska-Krauze.
