Researchers from the University of Silesia and the Lodz University of Technology developed new chemical compounds for dyeing polyester fabrics for yellow, orange, red and brown colors. The already patented solution guarantees high durability of colors and their intensity.
Polyester fabrics dyed in this way will not lose their color over time even under the influence of light. Thanks to this, producers will also be able to obtain fabrics with more vivid colors.
Patented 2-methylazoquinoline compounds are quinoline derivatives. They are widely used – they have antimalarial, antifungal and antibacterial properties, many of them are also the starting product in the synthesis of so-called cyanine dyes used in photography or medicine. Other derivatives can be used in electronics – for the production of OLED displays or for the creation of DVD-R disc layers, as well as in the food industry.
