The European Research Council (ERC) has announced the results of the competition for Consolidator Grants. A total of 54 applications from Poland were submitted. Polish scientists were awarded 4 grants, all of which went to researchers from the University of Warsaw (UW).
The winners of ERC Consolidator Grants are Prof. Ewa Szczurek and Prof. Szymon Toruńczyk from the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics at UW, Prof. Paweł Caputa from the Faculty of Physics at UW and Prof. Magdalena Wojcieszak from the Centre for Migration Research at UW.
Prof. Ewa Szczurek will carry out the project Deep Optimised Generation of Antimicrobial Peptides (DOG-AMP, Deep Optimised Generation of Antimicrobial Peptides).
Prof. Szymon Toruńczyk will carry out the project Limits of Structural Tractability (BUKA).
Prof. Paweł Caputa will implement the project Quantum Complexity from Quantum Field Theories to Quantum Gravity (QComplexity, Quantum Complexity from Quantum Field Theories to Quantum Gravity).
Prof Magdalena Wojcieszak will carry out the project Encouraging Citizen Consumption of Quality News Online: Theory and Practical Tools (NEWSUSE, Incentivizing Citizen Exposure to Quality News Online: Framework and Tools).
