Two scientists from the Faculty of Fundamental Technological Problems at Wrocław University of Science and Technology are listed among the winners of the Sonata Bis competition of the National Science Centre. They received a total of more than PLN 4.5 million for their research.

Over PLN 2.7 million for the project ‘Integrated quantum photonic circuits on an InP/SiO2 hybrid platform’ was awarded to Dr Eng. Paweł Mrowiński. In this project, our scientist will develop an instrument based on quantum dots as sources of single photons, which will be integrated in a waveguide system.

More than 1.8 million PLN for the project ‘Properties of low-dimensional quantum systems with many local degrees of freedom’ was awarded to Prof. Jacek Herbrych. The scientist will set up a research group that will focus on investigating the second largest family of high-temperature superconductors: multiband materials, in particular those based on iron.
