Researchers from Czech universities won the Wrocław part of Falling Walls Lab. The winner of this year’s competition was Dr Enrico Patrono from the Institute of Physiology at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. His project ‘Breaking the Wall of Neuroscience Single- Discipline’ dealt with unravelling the causes of the imbalance of neuronal processes found in schizophrenia.
Second place was taken by Veronica Červenková from the Charles University in Prague, for her project ‘Breaking the Wall of Neuroscience Single- Discipline’. Third place was won by Erik Sonntag from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, presenting the project ‘Breaking the Wall of Medical Non-Compliance’.
The international competition is aimed at students and young scientists. Participants have three minutes to present their idea for a breakthrough technology, scientific paper or business. The winners will present their idea at the Falling Walls Berlin international conference, where the victory is funding of the project.
