Researchers from the Academy of Physical Education in Poznań became the experts creating the nationwide FitSchool project. The main aim of the project is to strengthen the health potential of children by increasing the level of physical activity.
The project’s key tasks are to promote the adaptation of school infrastructure to technological opportunities for the implementation of new forms of physical activity in the learning environment; to promote the making of systemic changes to the organisation of physical activity classes for children to take into account key health needs.
The project also includes the promotion of a reorientation of the role of the teacher providing physical activity classes in the educational establishment and the implementation of innovative ICT tools for teachers in the form of the FitSchool platform. The programme has received honorary patronage from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Centre for Education Development.
