Researchers of the Medical University of Gdańsk rated in the list of the most influential scientists in the world

Six researchers of the Medical University of Gdańsk were included in the group of 2 percent of the most influential scientists in the world. The ranking was prepared by Stanford University in cooperation with Elsevier publishing house and SciTech Strategies.

The prestigious group includes: the late Prof. Roman Kaliszan, Prof. Krzysztof Narkiewicz – head of the Department and Clinic of Hypertension and Diabetology, Prof. Jacek Jassem – head of the Department and Clinic of Oncology and Radiotherapy, Prof. Piotr Szefer of the Department of Bromatology, Prof. Tomasz Bączek – head of the Department and Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and the late Prof. Zdzisław Brzozowski. The list also includes Prof. Anna Dominiczak, scientist of the University of Glasgow, a graduate of the Gdańsk university.

The list assesses the entire scientific output of individual researchers according to the bibliometric index. It includes 160,000 of the most influential scientists in the world with 726 of them representing Poland.
