Researchers at the Medical University of Wroclaw have received grants from the National Science Center in the Opus 17 and Prelude 17 competitions. The total amount of funding for their projects is almost PLN 2.7 million.
Preludium grants were awarded to: Agnieszka Olejnik from the Department of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Hematology for the project “Protective effect of Klotho protein on cardiomyocytes damaged as a result of acute ischemia and reperfusion” and Tomasz Urbaniak from the Department and Department of Physical Chemistry and Biophysics) for “Core-type microparticles coating as carriers of conjugated drug substance in therapies of macrophage dependent diseases “.
The Opus grant was received by Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences is a partner of the Wrocław university, for the project “Immunological control points in non-small cell lung cancer – study of genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of regulation of mRNA and protein expression”.
