Researchers of the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław are implementing the FoodSHIFT2030 project financed by the Horizon 2020 program. This international project is implemented in Copenhagen, Athens, Avignon, Barcelona, Berlin and Wrocław and focuses on identifying, developing and scaling innovations driven by the inhabitants of local communities.
Wrocław researchers, Dr Małgorzata Świąder and Dr Marta Sylla, are the leaders of the research work package related to the assessment of the current food system in nine city-regions, called LABs, including designating the nurturing zones of cities.
In addition to the research part, they also operate within the Wrocław LAB, which focuses on developing a model for creating community gardens in the capital of Lower Silesia. Such places will be an alternative for people who do not have access to their own garden or allotment gardens, and would like to jointly engage in the cultivation of food.
