Researchers of the University of Warsaw investigated legal problems of small and medium enterprises

03.10.2019

Researchers from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw (UW) have created a report showing how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Poland use the law. On October 7, 2019, a conference promoting the results of their work will be held at Collegium Iuridicum II.

Research project “Access to law for small and medium entrepreneurs” has been implemented at the University of Warsaw for two years by Dr Jan Winczorek (project manager) and Dr Karol Muszyński from the Institute of State and Law Sciences. Scientists have received a grant from the National Science Center. This is the largest empirical research in Poland about the use of legal services and legal institutions by Polish SMEs.

The purpose of the report was to determine: what legal problems SMEs face; in what situations do SMEs use law, legal institutions and legal services to solve their business problems; what barriers make it difficult for entrepreneurs to solve problems in business using legal tools and institutions.
