Researchers of Wrocław University of Science and Technology in cooperation with partners from France and Belgium are implementing the GADEIRE project, which aims to develop innovative laser detectors for hazardous gases. The research received funding from the National Science Center as part of the M-ERA.NET competition.
The main goal of the GADEIRE project is to develop selective and sensitive hazardous gas laser detectors based on the use of new fiber optic configurations – the so-called anti-resonance photonic optical fibers with an air core.
The development of gas sensors based on new types of photonic optical fibers requires the involvement of four independent teams specialized in the knowledge in a specific research area: production of functional materials, widely-tunable laser sources and laser gas spectroscopy. The University of Lille’s partners in the project are the University of Lille (France) as well as the Belgian companies MULTITEL and LASERSPEC.
