The projects of compact lasers and environmentally friendly cardboard house will be handled by the winners of the competition “Lider” of the National Center for Research and Development. Scientists from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology will receive almost PLN 7.5 million for their research.
Researchers will develop a ‘Compact fiber laser for multi-photon biomedical imaging’. The project involves the development of a fiber laser emitting ultra-short pulses in the spectral range at the border of visible light and near infrared light, which will be used in medical diagnostics.
The project “Mobile Ecological House of Cardboard – R&D works on the use of cellulose-based materials in architecture” assumes the development of an innovative structural system for small residential buildings made of environmentally friendly materials.
Thanks to the subsidies, Wrocław scientists will also check the possibility of using granite flour in construction and developing a precise printer and a helmet made of biodegradable materials.
