Dr Maciej Kowalczyk from the Ludwig and Maximilian University of Munich has won a grant of over one million PLN from the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). Thanks to the grant from the Polish Returns competition, the scientist will begin research at the Department of Field Theory, Electronic Systems and Optoelectronics at Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

Dr Kowalczyk will work on the project ‘Ultrastable single-cycle mid-infrared laser sources’. The researcher is returning to Wrocław University, where he presented his PhD thesis in 2019.
