The development and improvement of the teaching, scientific and expert offer of the University of Economics in Katowice are some of the objectives of the university’s cooperation with Ruda Śląska. The city, having signed an agreement, becomes a strategic partner of the Urban Economy and Real Estate course.
‘City management must be based on expert knowledge and implemented by competent staff. The University of Economics in Katowice is providing both. Also we, as practitioners of local government work, can indicate which projects are of greatest importance to us and confront them with the real problems of the city’, says Ruda Śląska Mayor Michał Pierończyk.
Cooperation in the scientific and expert fields will also include identifying areas of research whose results are important for the city, undertaking research projects on this basis, cooperation to raise money for the implementation of projects, as well as conferences and activities to popularise the activities of the university and the city.
