The interdisciplinary team of the Faculty of Biology and Agriculture at the University of Rzeszów is conducting a unique research on air pollution, sourced by parks.
Researchers are studying Rzeszów parks and their allergenic potential character. According to estimates, as early as in 2025, half of the European population will suffer from an allergy and pollen allergens will cross-react with food allergens.
– We have no assumptions that the park can be a source of air pollution. Meanwhile, based on Spanish research, such a statement is frequent in the scientific literature. It does not mean that the parks are bad, because their health benefits are indisputable and undeniable. The point is to manage reasonably them and not to create unnecessary health risks – said Agata Ćwik from the Department of Agrobiology and Environmental Protection of the Rzeszów university in an interview.
