‘We are building a laboratory that is state-of-the-art, unique not only in the country, but also in the world. This is where we are about to conduct research into the use of hydrogen as a fuel, as a propulsion system in engines. I believe that we are at this point in the foray of scientific institutions that are dealing with these issues. Hydrogen is the future. We are ready to develop our economy’, said Professor Piotr Koszelnik, Rector of the Rzeszów University of Technology (PRz), during the opening of the PRz Hydrogen Laboratory.
In the newly opened facility, scientists aim to develop, among other things, methods of using hydrogen as a low-carbon energy source for the aviation industry.
PRz Vice-Chancellor for Development and Cooperation with the Environment, Prof. Jarosław Sęp, emphasised that the laboratory is a very important development impulse for both the university and the Podkarpackie Hydrogen Valley.
In preparing the laboratory, Rzeszów University of Technology invested PLN 3 million from its own resources. The university also received a grant from the Podkarpackie Marshal’s Office.
