Satellite object observation station developed at Poznan University of Technology

A stationary field observation station for satellite objects has been set up at Poznan University of Technology. It was built as part of the project ‘Station for observation, surveillance and tracking of satellite objects at Poznan University of Technology (SONSOS).

The stand consists of two astronomical domes for research and development activities in the development, manufacture, testing and validation of positioning robots for use in astronomical structures (telescope mounts).

Among the equipment purchased as part of the project are a wide-angle telescope optical set, a modular horizontal robot, a goniometric positioning system, a camera set, laser communication elements and a set of data acquisition units and software for managing the observing apparatus and conducting observations.
