SATIM spin-off company of the AGH University of Science and Technology wins grant from the Industrial Development Agency

SATIM Satellite Monitoring, a spin-off company from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków received a grant over PLN 170,000. The University receives it under an agreement signed with the Industrial Development Agency as part of the Open Innovation Network project.

According to the press release of the AGH University of Science and Technology, the SATIM company was founded by scientists from the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection and deals with satellite surveys of subsidence of land in mining and post-mining areas. Funds obtained under the grant of the company’s creator will be allocated to software that will improve the services of satellite monitoring of movements of the area.

SATIM is one of many successful examples of commercialization of scientific research at the Krakow university. For several years, the company has been conducting research and development projects in cooperation with the European Space Agency.
