The launch of the #EndPlasticPollution Initiative, developed by the UNEP/GRID-Warsaw Centre, took place at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). The ceremonial launch of the project was carried out by Maria Andrzejewska, Director General of the UNEP/GRID-Warszawa Centre, and Professor Piotr Wachowiak, Rector of SGH.

SGH and the UNEP/GRID-Warszawa Centre signed an agreement in 2021 covering the implementation of joint activities and projects aimed at promoting environmentally responsible attitudes in society and business. 

The UN has decided to develop legislation to deal with plastic pollution in the next 20 years. As part of the #EndPlasticPollution Initiative, SGH is involved in the international law-making process, but above all in stimulating actions taken to optimise the use of plastics.

The #EndPlasticPollution Initiative also aims to prepare a report on good and bad practices.
