Dr Michał Klichowski from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań received a scientific prize from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) for the book “Learning in CyberParks. A theoretcal and empirical study”.
– The considerations in the book revolve around constitutive concepts for the idea of learning in CyberParks. Theoretical analysis, however, led to a surprising discovery: one of the latest concepts of neuroscience, the concept of double-task costs, suggests that this type of learning may not only be inefficient, but also in some way dangerous for students. To clarify this issue, I carried out two experiments in the paradigms of cognitive neuroscience, whose assumptions and results were presented in the second, empirical part of the book.
The PAN scientific prizes are awarded for outstanding and creative works published in the four years preceding their granting.
