Students from the PolSl Racing science club at the Silesian University of Technology took third place and won a special prize in the BASF competition ‘Drive Innovation. The Future of Sustainable Transport”. They were awarded for their “Energy storage system for high-performance vehicles”.
The aim of the competition is to engage young people in solving the problems of today’s world. The challenges they face are reducing greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency in transport, recycling and vehicle safety.
“The competition focused on an area of interest in our research club, namely automotive and electromobility in the broadest sense. The high-performance vehicle energy storage system entered in the competition was used in our first electric car, the SW03e, and was also used in the testing phases in our electric motorbike, the MC01e, which demonstrates the versatility of its application”, says team leader Damian Pietryja.
