The 50th anniversary of 1968 events reminds that history did not concern Poland only, but also other parts of the world. “Rebellion of the young”, counter-culture, new values, more democracy and forms of participation are the determinants of our June discussion – conclude the authorities of the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Warsaw in a letter inviting participants to the conference “1968 – Poland. Europe. World “, which will be held on June 27-28, 2018.
During the conference there are planned 6 discussion panels: “Generation of March ’68 – generation of new explanations”, “The new times are coming – how the social has become the political”, “I can see thunders and lightnings – the end of obviousness in social policy”, “We all want to change the world – the rebellion and counter-culture of the generation of revolt”, “The world is strange and there is still a lot of evil – the Cold War of the 1960s”, and “There must be some way out of it – 1968 after the Iron Curtain”.
As Prof. Stanisław Sulowski, dean of the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations emphasized, the organizers hope that the participation in the conference will inspire reflections on 1968 events and on the contemporary world.
