The Pol-Stor-En research consortium was founded under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy. Its members included the AGH University of Science and Technology, the Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals, the Gdańsk University of Technology, the Poznan University of Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, the Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw.
The main goal of the consortium is to increase the scientific potential for the development of energy storage and cooperation with the industry. It highlights the combining the strength of scientific and research centers in order to develop a comprehensive product that can be used by industry.
Pol-Stor-En is part of strategic programs developed in the Ministry of Energy, such as the Electromobility Development Plan and the Directions for the Development of Energy Innovation. It is also a complementary activity with EU projects.
